oh i could spend my life in this sweet surrender i could stay ,LOST IN THIS MOMENT FOREVER. EVERY MOMENT SPENT WITH YOU IS A MOMENT I TREASURE. this past year for kassidy had flown by, and definitely been one of the best years of her life. her job in the hospital had gotten better as she moved up to a higher rank, which also paid more so the bills were paid with ease and it left more money to spend. her long time boyfriend, gavin, had asked for her hand in marriage. how could things get better than that? oh yeah, and they had recently bought as house and moved in together so now, they could see each other as much as they wanted without having to leave the comfort of their home. things were going great. now what was next? kids? well, maybe. sure, kassidy loved kids. and she wouldn't mind having them. but she'd prefer to wait until after the wedding to have kids and it mostly depended on whether gavin wanted them in the first place. she wouldn't be upset if he didn't, but she would be thrilled if he did. kids were a later thing, though. not right now. they had way too much on their plates. gavin was vice-president of the office and the high school basketball coach. kassidy, on the other hand, normally worked the night shifts at the hospital and sometimes worked over time during day shifts to get some extra money to spend on the wedding- not that they didn't already have enough money as it is. but what time did that leave for her and gavin to have some alone time? not much, really. the only time they got were on weekends, and even then sometimes it seemed like they were constantly surrounded by work and people. it was frustrating, honestly, you can't get anywhere without money and a job so it all came with a price. the thing kassidy was looking forward to most was the honeymoon. they hadn't planned where they were heading - i mean, they hadn't planned much at all in the first place - but about a week and a half away from work and the busy streets of new york with your husband was probably the best thing for her. the couple needed some time away from everything; everything including even friends and family. not that you could exactly get away from kassidy's family if you tried. the family had eight kids, not including herself, and they all were famous. so it was likely you'd run into a sibling or parent one way or another. which sucked, to be honest. that was the one bad thing about coming from a big family; it's almost impossible to hide from them.
she stared down at the paper, several names written down. it was the guest list. she had already invented atleast ten people - and keep in mind that didn't include her eight siblings, mom and dad, three cousins, their six kids, aunt & uncle on both sides, and grandparents on both sides. that was twenty-seven family members right there; and add in those ten friends she could think of right off the top of her head. and plus that, she had to invite staff members from the hospital as well, their families if they wanted, and gavin had yet to add his share to the list. the wedding was going to be huge, and that was an understatement. but really, could you blame kass? she had been waiting for this her entire life, ever since her and gavin started dating in high school, so she wanted it to be something her, her family, her friends and everyone else would never forget. kind of like those story books fairytales where everything in that one little moment was perfect. that moment that you'll always remember; kassidy wanted that. she already had one moment she'd never forget, just the other. her smooth hand dropped the pen and set the paper on the table, rubbing her back of her neck and leaning her head back to remove the tension built up from looking down a while. this was the first night in a couple of days gavin wouldn't be coming home after kassidy was already to bed, so why not surprise him with cookies? his favorite, of course. she smiled and jumped up from the couch, jogging into the kitchen. kass didn't use that store bought, premade cookie dough stuff. lord no, she did it the old fashioned way. get the ingredients and make it herself. it was better that way, so she could always add that corny little line everytime he ate them; "i put a little bit of love in there too, just for you". it was always that little line kassidy made that made them giggle, even though it was true. after turning on the radio she had left in the kitchen from several nights ago, she found herself singing along as she mixed everything together. she was a good fiance, to say the least. and to add to that, she was a damn good cook too. she had gotten it from her momma; just like almost everything else she got personality wise. looks came mostly from her father. the nose, the high cheek bones, the ears; all came from daddy. what came from momma? chest size, eyes, and cute lips; not including personality. but her singing voice? no telling where she got that from. both her parents were amazing singers; but kassidy on the other hand was bad at it. but, gavin always told her she was good. or was he just lying so that he could get some? god, who knew. he was a male, after all.
she heard the front door open and she turned down the radio, turning it off and looking over her shoulder. it was gavin; he was home early. wow, what a surprise. she smiled, looking down at the ready to bake cookie dough mixed up in the bowl. how about instead of cookies they have a cookie dough fight? it'd be fun. they needed to relax their muscles and just have a little fun. she smiled at him as he walked in the kitchen, turning to face him with the bowl of cookie dough in hand. hey babe, she said with a smile, walking over to him and planting a gentle kiss on his lips before pulling back. welcome home she said with a laugh and scooped up a little bit of the cookie dough from the bowl, lifting her hands to his face. she wiped the dough across his cheek and upper lip, a laugh escaping her lips at the sight and her dimples showing. it made her laugh and smile look even cuter. she jogged out of the kitchen, pressing her back against the wall in order to ambush him when he came around. this was going to be loads of fun. her and gavin needed some time to have fun, and this was exactly it. after thinking for a second she set the bowl down and pulled her brown locks back into a ponytail, not wanting the cookie dough to get in her air if he ever tried to hit her with it. not likely, though. but of course, he was great at basketball. swift, fast and accurate. not a very fair match up. she left the bowl on the floor, not exactly thinking that he could jump around and steal the bowl at any second.

oh i could spend my life in this sweet surrender i could stay ,LOST IN THIS MOMENT FOREVER. EVERY MOMENT SPENT WITH YOU IS A MOMENT I TREASURE. kassidy could honestly say she felt bad for people who didn't get to experience the things she had or hadn't yet at her age. she couldn't ask for more. she had truthfully found her soul mate at only about sixteen, and now she was about to fully commit herself to him for all time. it was amazing how people said high school relationships never lasted, but for kassidy and gavin that so wasn't true. kassidy had been a cheerleader, gavin had been on the basketball team. the typical high school match up. but the thing was that this time, it lasted. she couldn't imagine being where she was now back then. at first she suspected just a simple high school crush, but it never went away. she found herself liking him more and more everyday, and finding more reasons to like him. like his charming smile, his loyalty, his stubborness, his glowing eyes. the ways their bodies fitted perfectly together during a hug and their first kiss together; oh how it made kassidy swoon. and every day she fell more and more in love with him. i mean, at twenty she saw herself settling down with him. they had talked about it a many of times before the actual proposal, but now that it was official kassidy found herself daydreaming so much. and even to this very day did she find even more things to love about him, even if she had known him for almost ten years. they'd been dating about seven or eight of those almost ten years, so it wasn't like there were secrets between them. but still, she loved everything about him. and that wasn't the whole truth. his eyes, his smile, the way he instinctivly wrapped his arms protectively around her; the way they could lay there together in the quiet and say everything without saying nothing at all. he was everything she looked for in a guy and so much more. after graduation an overwhelming fear that this would end like a summer fling suddenly passed over her. but when their relationship lasted through the most dreadful time of the year for relationships, she knew they could withstand anything. which is why she wanted him as her husband and hers only.
babies. of course she wanted babies. she was extremely maternal and loved kids, but her only thoughts concerned of if gavin wanted children. they had never really talked about it, but since they both knew their wedding would come faster then expected everything should be talked about. kids, retirement; everything. but she didn't want to get her hopes up for the idea of having kids only to find out it was the last thing he wanted. she just figured that after everything was planned, then they would talk about having kids and everything. i mean, atleast talk about it after the location for the honeymoon was chosen. why then? because everyone expected you to get pregnant during your honeymoon. it wasn't that she didn't want to have kids, but just not get pregnant during her honeymoon. she'd like it if her kids were planned, at the least. she wasn't going to stress herself over it, since she knew things would be fine, but what she did stress over was the wedding plans and work. it had actually gotten her so stressed out once that when she asked gavin for a back massage - and no, get your mind out of the gutter, it's wasn't for what you're thinking - that he said every single muscle in her back was tensed up. kassidy had never been that tense before, but when she stressed herself she figured all her muscles got tensed up and stuff. which is probably why her doctor recommended she stay away from stress in the first place; it could severly harm her muscles. but as for kids, she wouldn't stress. her and gavin were still young - young compared to most - so it wasn't like time was running out for them to have mini gavin's and kassidy's. except, it was like this little plan. you had a set of orders to follow and as soon as you finished them you checked them off. fall in love in high school? check. date for over 5 years? check. fall for and more in love? check. get engaged? check. but hell, kassidy was fine with that thought. as long as the next thing on the list was marriage, the changing of her last name and a kid or... three.
she watched him stand there, sweetness and all, with her favorite roses in hand and some chocolates too. she loved those sweet little gestures he did every now and then, and considering it wasn't done very often made it all the better. normally it was considered kind of cheesy to bring home flowers and chocolates for their spouse, but hey; kassidy loved the cheesy stuff. she smiled when he licked the cookie dough off his upper lip, a giggle escaping her cute lips as she ran from him. as she pulled her brown locks back after setting the bowl on the ground, she was just about to reach for it when he jumped around and grabbed it; digging his hand in and wiping it across her forehead and nose. she laughed, poking her tongue out at him playfully as he moved away. that's a good look for you, you know. cookie dough on the face, definitely sexy. she giggled quietly, moving into the kitchen and hearing his feet moving across the kitchen floor. awh, thanks babe. you don't look half bad either. it's definitely a turn on. she said, jumping around and running over to him. she knew this house already liked the back of her hand, so she figured he'd be hiding there. can't hide from me that easily. she said with a giggle, taking the bowl from his grasp and wiping some dough over his other cheek and down his neck. she loved these little moments like this with him where nothing mattered but him, her and the fun they were having. sometimes, when this was the only time they got to see each other, these moments together made the long wait apart worth the wait. besides, absence did always make the heart grow fonder. it was definitely true in this case; for the both of them.

i wanna stay here forever and always, honesty was one of the most important things to gavin. he was an extremely honest person, and preferred to be surrounded by equally honest people. he didn't see the point in lies or games. why waste your time making something up, when you can face the truth and get on with your life? so it was especially important that any relationships gavin has in his life are full of the truth. like his and kassidy's relationship, for example. they've been together for almost eight years, no huge fights, no stupid lies, no break-ups. it has been one-hundred percent perfect and it has gavin completely mesmerized in a way. all of his life, gavin never imagined that anything could be seriously perfect. but that was until he met the perfect woman, and had the perfect relationship, and basically will have the perfect life with her in the near future. the fact that she's just as equally honest with him as he is with her just makes it that much better. gavin matthew evans could openly admit that he was living in a fairy tale. he wanted to grow old with this woman, and it was amazing.
when gavin was in high school, he never imagined that he'd get where he is today. back in the day, gav was considered a 'bad guy'. he was a rebel, in a way. not so much the rebel that didn't go to school, because he had to have good attendance and good grades in order to keep his spot on the basketball team, but he was definitely a bad guy. he was heavily into partying, and girls. lots and lots of girls. before he and kassidy got together, gavin was a completely different person. he couldn't hold down a steady relationship. he was far too honest to just go cheat on someone, so he'd break it off with whoever he was dating and immediately date someone else. it was basically a mess, until the day he truly started to get feelings for his good friend kassidy. basically the day that forever started, and would never end. she saved him from being the horrible person he could've been, and now he's a genuinely great guy. all thanks to that special lady. and it's not even that he never thought he'd be this type of person, he never thought he'd have the high rank job that he has now. in his freshman year, he had no plans of going to college unless it was on a basketball scholarship, but he had no idea what he would ever go to school for. but kassidy also helped him with that, helping him to figure out what he would be interested in. and even though he did get into school on a basketball and academic scholarship, he went to school because he truthfully wanted to. he went for business, and sort of steered away from that in some ways, but he's happy with where he's at. now he's working his way up his career ladder to become the president of his company, and he'll be extremely satisfied with that position.
gavin couldn't help but smirk and lift an eyebrow when kassidy made the comment about his cookie dough face being a turn on. welllll thennn. he would've totally made a typical guy comment, saying something like oh let's take this to the bedroom then, but before he could manage to get a word out, she found his hiding spot and stole his cookie dough! next thing he knew, gavin had cookie dough on his other cheek, and now down his neck. oh no, you didn't. he laughed before going up behind her and wrapping his arms around her waist, pulling her down to the ground where he stuck his hand into the cookie dough and wiped it all across her chest and arms. he let out a chuckle before moving to pin her arms down to the ground, the cookie dough just out of her reach. he smirked. awh babe, what are you gonna do nowww? he teased her before moving down and licking some cookie dough from her forehead. he smiled at her, a grin slowly appearing across his lips. gavin was glad kassidy felt like having fun today, it was needed for the both of them after all of the hours they put in at work. it was exciting that they could both act like kids again, it made him happy that they would probably never turn into some old, boring married couple. they'd always have fun and relive their childhoods. they'd always do sweet things for each other- like bake cookies or bing home roses. they were meant to be, and that was that. tagged for, kassidy denice vanderbilt.
